Achieving legendary eminence never comes on a silver platter but that is what one of Nollywood’s icons has become. Olu Jacobs, often times referred to as the granddad of Nollywood has achieved great feats in the industry beyond standards he probably set for himself.

From the old days of the mid 90’s when he acted together with Omotola Jalade and Emeka Ike in “Day Break”, to some of his most current movies, the style and class he brings into his roles is second to none; from the trademark roaring voice when he is angry and intent on creating mischief especially when he gets offended or his child goes contrary to his commands, to the sweet and fatherly affection he displays when pleased, Olu has remained the same person and kept true to his core acting values that has made him beloved by many.


In the years that have past, some of his age mates who were legends in their own rights that to great Nollywood achievements including the likes of Sam Loco, Enebeli Elebuwa, Pete Eneh, and Justus Esiri, have all passed on. So it is worth at least recognizing his great feat over the years and bestowing on him an award deserving of his status.

Even before that happens however, the legend has already received a sculpted statue of himself and Olu can certainly take pride of this because he deserves it.

I started changing a lot of things and it actually scared a lot of negative friends from me. It helped me resolve and re-organise myself again. In the past, some children appeared scared to come close to me, but all that has changed. Fatherhood has been awesome, amazing and a miracle to me. My son is my replica.”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have already agreed ... they will keep their assets separate by drawing up a prenup before they tie the knot ... TMZ has learned.

Multiple sources connected with the couple tell us ... both Kanye and Kim are committed to the marriage and they are not signing a prenup because they're worried the relationship might fall apart. But they're both business people and know given their vast wealth it's just the smart thing to do to have a prenup. 

Kim especially understands the importance of a prenup because her late father, attorney Robert Kardashian, told her over and over about the necessity of having clear contracts when it came to money.

We're also told ... even though they will keep their assets separate, they will have a fat joint account for living expenses that will probably approach the gross national product of a small country.

As for how much they have ... some reports place Kim's wealth at $40 mil and Kanye's at $90 mil. But we're told Kim's actually worth more than Kanye.

Gist:Locnville Beat P-Square, Wizkid To Win 2013 MTV EMAs Best African Act

Stars Above You singers Locnville have been named as the winners of the Best African Act at the 2013 MTV European Music Awards.
For the past six weeks, MTV has given fans around the world the chance to vote for their favourite hometown artists to help them win the Best Act title in their respective markets.
The duo will now go head-to-head against Yo Yo Honey Singh from India and Ahmed Soultan from the Middle East for the chance to be one of 10 finalists to reach the last round of the Worldwide Act category.
Locnville’s Brian Chaplin said it’s an honour to go through to the next round.
“Everyone has been amazing with voting, so I send huge thanks to everyone who’s put in their vote. I’m really excited to see what comes next.”
The representative for Africa, India and Middle East will be announced on 1 November along with the other regional winners.
Other contenders that had been in the running for the Best African Act award were Mafikozolo, P-Square, Wizkid and Fuse ODG.
Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke, Snoop Dogg, Afrojack, Imagine Dragons, The Killers and Katy Perry are all set to perform at the awards ceremony.
The 2013 MTV EMA will take place on 10 November in Amsterdam.

Gist:There’s No Injunction Against Me – Brymo

Brymo has come out to refute the rumors that his former label, Chocolate City have put out an injunction against him and his album which could prevent him from distributing, recording or performing as an artist.
He further stated via his twitter handle that the rumor is a ploy to to disrupt his street release of his album which is set for friday. He even added “as usual” which suggests there is a history here.
It doesn’t look like this will end soon, or end in a cordial way. The bigger question here is who is telling the truth?

Gist:Chocolate City Drags Brymo To Court, Stop Him From Working.

Now you all see the reason for Brymo's TWEET yesterday. He literally can't work as an artist until he sorts himself out with Choc City. Apparently his former record label Chocolate City through their law firm, L & A legal Consultants on Monday October 21st got an injunction against him, 'restraining him from recording, releasing, distributing any composition, song, musical works or carrying out any activity as a recording or performing artist through or for the benefit of any person or organisation other than Chocolate City pending the determination of the suit against him.

Chocolate City says Brymo's contract remains valid until 2016. Brymo is too talented not to work... please y'all should sort this out!

Guess who is smiling to the bank today, or should I say are? Davido, Wizkid and Olamide! 2013 is sure a great year for Nigerian artistes with titans like Iyanya, Omawumi and M.I signs endorsement deals left, right and centre.

Rapper Olamide, Wizkid and Davido have just been signed as the brand ambassadors for Guinness Nigeria; we do not know the exact figures but the deal is worth millions.

The excited artistes took their Instagram pages some minutes ago to share the good news while industry icon Tola Odunsi posted a picture of Wizkid, Godwin and himself breaking the news with the caption “New deal #Guinnessthinz”. Gist:Nollywood actress, Queen Oluwa sues AIT for N5m over ‘Atupa Emi’

Nollywood actress and producer, Queen Temitope Oluwa has has instituted a legal suit against Raymond Dokpesi owned Africa Independent Television, AIT, over the airing of one of her flicks, Atupa Emi.

The Saratu star filed a legal case with the help of her attorney, M.A Bashua & Co. suing the television company to the tune of N5million.

When contacted, Queen said, “I don’t have much to say but I have instituted a legal case against AIT over an infringement on my rights as a citizen and as the copyright owner of Atupa Emi, which is illegally been aired on their medium.”

In a letter served the management of AIT, Queen is demanding the whopping sum of money as a fee for breaching of her intellectual property rights to the flick, Atupa Emi.

Gist:Michael Jackson Is Highest Earning Dead Celebrity As Ranked By Forbes

The late pop music icon might be gone for over four years now, but Michael Jackson still manage to stay on top as the highest earning dead celebrity.

Jackson with a gross income of $160 million between 2012-2013 gently surpassed the dead and still topped the living as his earning went past Madonna’s $125 million, who happens to be the highest earning celebrity for the year 2013. Still living of course.

Michael who died in 2009 from an overdose of drugs administered by a Doctor gets his income still from from a largely sold out song titled “One”, two Cirque du Solell shows and the sale at “Immortal” which has grossed at $300 million since its opening.

In second place on the famous dead rich list is Elvis Prestley who comes in at $55 million and is followed by Charles Schutz with $37 million total income.

Others on the list includes Marilyn Monroe, John Lennon, Bruce Lee, Steve McQueen, Jenni Rivera, Bettle Page and the legendary Bob Marley.
